我院博士生阿比奥敦受邀在雅加达国际市长论坛发表演讲
近日,由联合国可持续发展办公室主办的雅加达国际市长论坛圆满落幕。我院2022级博士生、现任尼日利亚总统特别助理(中北部地区)的阿比奥敦-奥-埃希特(Abiodun Essiet)受邀在论坛上发表了题为《利用六个关键转型:作为实现本地可持续发展目标(SDGs)的投资途径——数字政府和智慧城市》的演讲。

作为全球城市领导者交流与分享实现可持续发展目标(SDGs)经验的重要平台,本次论坛特别强调了数字政府与智慧城市作为推动当地SDGs实现的关键投资途径,并深入探讨了六个关键转型路径。尼日利亚在本次论坛中的表现获得了联合国经济和社会事务部(UN DESA)的高度评价,并荣获奖项,以表彰其在推动SDGs本地化方面的卓越贡献。
阿比奥敦-奥-埃希特博士凭借其在数字政府和智慧城市领域的深厚技术知识和丰富经验,为来自63个地区政府和33个国家的市长以及全球发展伙伴提供了宝贵的洞见和建议。在演讲中,阿比奥敦-奥-埃希特博士不仅分享了她在数字政府和智慧城市方面的专业知识和经验,还展示了对外经济贸易大学留学博士生们的学术风采以及对全球发展事业的热爱。

delivers speech on Jakarta International Mayors' Forum
The recent Jakarta International Mayors' Forum, organized by the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development, has concluded with resounding success. Our PhD student from the Class of 2022 and current Senior Special Assistant to Nigeria's President for the Central-Northern Region, Abiodun O. Essiet, was invited to deliver a keynote speech and share her technical knowledge and experience on “Leveraging the Six Key Transitions: Investment Pathways to Achieve the SDGs Locally - Digital Government and Smart Cities”.

This forum, a prestigious global gathering for city leaders to share insights on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighted digital governance and smart cities as essential investment avenues for localizing SDG achievements and explored six transformative pathways. Nigeria's outstanding performance at the forum earned it accolades from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), along with an award that recognizes its exceptional contributions to localizing SDG initiatives.
Dr. Abiodun Essiet, with her profound technical expertise in digital governance and smart urbanization, provided invaluable counsel and perspectives to mayors from 63 regional governments across 33 countries and international development partners. Her presentation not only demonstrated her professional acumen but also her unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable urban development on a global scale.
Since 2022, the School of International Development Cooperation at the University of International Business and Economics has been dedicated to nurturing international postgraduate students from around the globe. Presently, the school boasts a diverse cohort of 46 students from countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, Nepal, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Jordan, Vietnam, Ecuador, and Canada. These students excel academically and are deeply passionate about global development issues. They are regarded as the future pillars of the global development endeavor. We firmly believe that their wisdom and persistent efforts will provide a formidable force in propelling the achievement of the global sustainable development goals.
